Kanta-Häme, also known as Tavastia Proper, is a region in Southern Finland. It forms part of the historical province of Tavastia (Häme). The regional capital is Hämeenlinna, a city notable for its medieval castle, Hämeenlinna Castle.

Geography and landscape are characteristic of southern Finland, with a lake-dominated terrain that supports outdoor recreation and nature tourism.
