Kalsiumionit, with the chemical symbol Ca²⁺, are a crucial component of many biological and geological processes. In biological systems, calcium ions are the most abundant mineral cation and play vital roles in cell signaling, muscle contraction, nerve impulse transmission, and blood clotting. They are essential for the structural integrity of bones and teeth, forming hydroxyapatite. Their presence in seawater is a key factor in the formation of coral reefs.
