Kalkstaub
Kalkstaub, also known as lime dust or calcium oxide dust, is a fine particulate material derived from the processing of calcium carbonate, typically limestone. It is a primary component in the production of quicklime (calcium oxide) and hydrated lime (calcium hydroxide). The process involves heating limestone in a kiln at high temperatures, causing it to decompose and release carbon dioxide, leaving behind calcium oxide. Further processing, such as slaking with water, produces calcium hydroxide, which can then be dried and ground into a fine powder.
Kalkstaub has a wide range of industrial and commercial applications. It is extensively used in the construction
