Kalbid is a fictional planet located in the Cygnus X-1 system, known for its unique geological formations and diverse, albeit sparsely populated, ecosystem. The planet's atmosphere is a dense mixture of nitrogen and argon, with trace amounts of methane, giving its skies a perpetual twilight hue. The surface is dominated by vast, crystalline deserts where colossal silicate structures, sculpted by millennia of solar winds, reach miles into the atmosphere. These formations are known for their resonant properties, emitting soft hums and chimes when disturbed by seismic activity or atmospheric shifts.

The indigenous life on Kalbid, known as the Silicates, are silicon-based organisms that have adapted to the planet's harsh conditions.
