Kaitselülititega is a term that refers to electrical circuit breakers. These are essential safety devices designed to protect electrical circuits from damage caused by overcurrents or short circuits. An overcurrent can result from an overload, where too many appliances are drawing power from a single circuit, or a short circuit, which is a low-resistance path that allows a large amount of current to flow.

When an excessive current flows through a circuit breaker, a mechanism within it is triggered, causing the circuit to open and stop the flow of electricity. This prevents overheating of wires, potential fires, and damage to connected equipment. Circuit breakers come in various types and sizes, suitable for different applications, from small household circuits to large industrial power systems.

The main components of a typical circuit breaker include a bimetallic strip or a magnetic coil that detects overcurrents, an actuator that trips the mechanism, and contacts that open or close the circuit. Once a circuit breaker has tripped, it can usually be reset manually by flipping a switch or lever back to its original position, provided the fault that caused the trip has been resolved. In some cases, automatic resetting breakers exist for specific applications. Their widespread use has significantly improved electrical safety standards worldwide.
