Kageroclass
The Kagerō-class was a group of light cruisers built for the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. The class comprised four ships: Kagerō, Shiranui, Yūgumo, and Yūnagi. The Kagerō-class was designed to be fast and agile, with a focus on anti-submarine warfare and escort duties. They were equipped with a mix of 15.5 cm and 12.7 cm guns, as well as depth charges and sonar for submarine detection. The ships had a displacement of around 4,000 tons, a length of 150 meters, and a speed of over 35 knots. The Kagerō-class saw action in various theaters of the Pacific War, including the Battle of the Philippine Sea and the Battle of Okinawa. Despite their relatively small size, these cruisers played significant roles in the defense of Japanese home waters and in the protection of convoys. The Kagerō-class was retired from service after the war, with most of the ships scrapped in the following decades.
