Kadath

Kadath, also known as the Cold Waste or the Dreaming City, is a fictional location in the Cthulhu Mythos created by H.P. Lovecraft. It is described as a city of cyclopean architecture hidden in the desolate polar regions of the Earth, a place of immense age and terrifying secrets. Kadath is said to be perpetually shrouded in mist and snow, its colossal structures built from unknown black stone.

In Lovecraft's stories, particularly "The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath," the protagonist Randolph Carter embarks on a quest to find this mythical city, seeking solace from disturbing dreams that plague him. His journey highlights the otherworldly nature of Kadath, its alien geometries, and the overwhelming sense of cosmic dread it inspires. The city serves as a potent symbol of humanity's insignificance in the face of vast, unknowable cosmic forces.
