Külmajuhtivus refers to the thermal conductivity of a material, specifically how effectively it transfers heat. In Estonian, "külmajuhtivus" literally translates to "cold conductivity," implying the rate at which cold (or heat) moves through a substance. This property is a fundamental characteristic of all materials and is crucial in various engineering and scientific applications. Materials with high külmajuhtivus, such as metals like copper and aluminum, readily transfer heat, making them suitable for applications like heat sinks and cooking utensils. Conversely, materials with low külmajuhtivus, known as thermal insulators, resist heat transfer.
