Jakoarjoille
Jakoarjoille is a village located in the municipality of Ylämaa within the former Finnish municipality of Säkkijärvi. Säkkijärvi is now part of the Leningrad Oblast in Russia. The village was ceded to the Soviet Union following the Winter War and the subsequent Continuation War. Jakoarjoille, along with other Karelian villages, experienced significant population displacement as Finnish inhabitants were evacuated or relocated. Today, the area is sparsely populated. Information regarding contemporary life in Jakoarjoille is limited, but it is part of the historical landscape of Karelia, a region with a rich and complex past shaped by its geopolitical location and historical conflicts. The village's name, like many in the region, reflects its Finnish heritage. The agricultural and forested environment of the area has historically been central to the lives of its inhabitants.
