Jabbas

Jabbas is a term sometimes used to refer to characters bearing the name Jabba within the Star Wars universe. In official canon, however, the name most often denotes a single individual: Jabba Desilijic Tiure, better known as Jabba the Hutt, a crime lord whose influence centers on the desert planet Tatooine. The plural form Jabbas is not a standard designation for separate, named characters in the core films, and its use is uncommon outside fan discussions and some non-canon material.

Origin and usage of the term are informal. The Hutt species, to which Jabba belongs, is a sentient, slug-like race known for commerce and organized crime across the galaxy. When the plural Jabbas appears, it is usually as a loose reference to multiple figures within the Jabba lineage or as a generic way to talk about the Jabba name, rather than a formal title or recognized grouping in official Star Wars storytelling.

Notable uses and context. Jabba the Hutt is a central antagonist in Return of the Jedi (1983) and appears in other media within the Star Wars franchise, where his palace and criminal network are recurring elements. The canonical material emphasizes Jabba as a single, identifiable character, and the collective or plural form Jabbas remains a linguistic rarity rather than a defined category of characters.
