Ivásis

Ivásis is a municipality in the ValMI region of the province of Zamboanga del Norte in the Philippines. It is situated on Mindanao and is specifically located at 8° 8' latitude and 123° 41' longitude.

As of the 2015 census, Ivásis had a population of 6,633 people. It covers a total land area of 76.09 square kilometers and consists of six barangays or villages. The town is named after its original residents, the Ivásis people.

The Ivásis municipality engages in activities such as rice, corn, and coconut production, as well as raising livestock. Fishing is also an important occupation, providing the community with a source of food and income. The town is accessible by road and is connected to other municipalities in the region.

Ivásis is predominantly populated by ethnically Tagalog and Cebuano settlers, who were among the first groups of People to inhabit the area. The town can be categorized under Region 9, specifically the Zamboanga Peninsula. Ivásis's elevation is relatively low, with its highest point being around 150 meters above sea level.

The exact date of the establishment of the town is unknown, however it is thought to have been settled by people in the early 20th century. The people of Ivásis are predominantly Catholic and practice the traditional Christian faith.
