Internet protokolli is a class of communication protocols used to facilitate data exchange across computer networks, primarily on the internet. These protocols operate at the application, transport, and network layers of the OSI model, enabling devices to communicate and exchange information.

The primary protocols used on the internet include:

* Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) for reliable, connection-oriented communication

* Internet Protocol (IP) for routed communication, ensuring packets of data reach their intended destination

* User Datagram Protocol (UDP) for fast and best-effort transmission of packets, suitable for applications where reliability is not crucial

Internet protokolli also include protocols for maintaining connections, such as Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) for encryption and authentication, and Domain Name System (DNS) for translating human-readable domain names to their corresponding IP addresses.

Various other protocols are utilized in the internet infrastructure, including prefix routing, including Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Inter-Autonomous System (IAS), which facilitate routing decisions between autonomous systems.

Routers, switches, and other equipment use firmware or hardware to implement these protocols, ensuring seamless communication between networks and devices on the internet. This enables a broad range of applications and enables many network architectures, from simple networks to complex and distributed systems.
