Integrointitehtävä refers to a mathematical problem that involves finding the integral of a function. Integration is one of the two fundamental operations in calculus, the other being differentiation. Finding the integral of a function essentially means finding the antiderivative of that function, or calculating the area under the curve of the function's graph.

There are two main types of integrals: indefinite and definite. An indefinite integral, also known as an antiderivative, results in a family of functions that differ by a constant. This is because the derivative of a constant is zero, so when reversing the differentiation process, an arbitrary constant of integration must be added. The notation for an indefinite integral of a function f(x) is ∫f(x) dx.

A definite integral, on the other hand, calculates a numerical value representing the net area between the function's graph and the x-axis over a specific interval, say from a to b. The notation for a definite integral is ∫[a, b] f(x) dx. The Fundamental Theorem of Calculus provides a powerful method for evaluating definite integrals by relating them to indefinite integrals.
