Inklinaatio

Inklinaatio is a linguistic term used to describe the system by which a word changes form to express grammatical categories such as case, number, gender, tense, mood, person, and aspect. In languages that have inklinaatio, words carry inflectional endings or undergo internal modification that signals these relations rather than relying on separate helper words.

The term covers both nominal inflection (the declension of nouns, adjectives, and pronouns) and verbal inflection (the conjugation of verbs). Morphological systems vary in how much they rely on overt inflection; some languages are highly inflected with fusional or agglutinative patterns, while others are more analytic and use prepositions and auxiliary words.
