Inggeris

Inggeris is the Malay word for the English language and, depending on context, can also refer to people from England. In Malay-language usage, it is common to say Bahasa Inggeris to mean English, or orang Inggeris to mean an English person.

English is a West Germanic language that originated in England and is now widely spoken around the world as a first, second, or foreign language. It developed from Old English, with significant influence from Norse and Norman French after the Norman Conquest, passing through Middle English to Early Modern English and then to the diverse forms spoken today.

The language has many dialects and varieties. Standard forms include British English and American English, among others such as Australian, Indian, and Canadian English.
