Inflaatiomallille refers to a mathematical model used to describe and understand the process of cosmic inflation. Cosmic inflation is a theoretical period of exponential expansion of the universe that is hypothesized to have occurred in the very early universe, shortly after the Big Bang. Inflationary models aim to explain several observational features of the universe that are difficult to account for with the standard Big Bang model alone.

These models typically involve a scalar field, often called the inflaton field, which drives the rapid expansion. Different inflationary models vary in the specific form of the inflaton potential and its associated field dynamics, leading to different predictions for the spectrum of these primordial fluctuations and other observable quantities. These models are tested against observational data from cosmic microwave background experiments and large-scale structure surveys.
