For instance, Milankovitch cycles, which describe long-term changes in Earth's orbital parameters, have been linked to ice age cycles. Human-induced factors, also known as anthropogenic factors, have become increasingly dominant drivers of climate change, particularly since the Industrial Revolution. The primary human influence is the emission of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O), primarily from the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes. These gases trap heat in the atmosphere, leading to a gradual warming of the planet, a phenomenon known as the greenhouse effect. Land-use changes, like urbanization and agriculture, also play a role by altering surface reflectivity and water cycles. Aerosols, tiny particles suspended in the atmosphere, can have complex effects, some leading to cooling and others to warming.
