Ihokerroksiin

Ihokerroksiin refers to the layers of the skin. The skin, the largest organ in the human body, is composed of three main layers: the epidermis, the dermis, and the hypodermis. These layers work together to protect the body, regulate temperature, and provide sensory information.

The epidermis is the outermost layer of the skin. It is relatively thin and avascular, meaning it lacks blood vessels. The epidermis is primarily composed of keratinocytes, which produce keratin, a tough protein that provides protection. Melanocytes, which produce melanin, are also found in the epidermis and are responsible for skin pigmentation and protection from UV radiation. The epidermis is constantly shedding and regenerating its cells.

It provides structural support and elasticity to the skin. The dermis is responsible for sensation, such as touch, pain, and temperature, due to the presence of various nerve endings and receptors.

The deepest layer is the hypodermis, also known as subcutaneous tissue. This layer is primarily composed of adipose tissue (fat) and loose connective tissue. The hypodermis serves as an insulator, helping to regulate body temperature, and acts as an energy reserve. It also connects the skin to the underlying muscles and bones.
