INSRgenen

INSRgenen is a putative mammalian gene posited to encode a transmembrane protein that modulates insulin receptor (INSR) signaling. In theoretical models, the protein is proposed to participate in fine-tuning receptor activity and endocytosis, thereby affecting downstream pathways such as the PI3K-Akt and MAPK cascades. At present, INSRgenen remains unconfirmed in many genome annotations, and its exact coding potential is a subject of ongoing investigation.

Genomic context and expression patterns are based on in silico predictions and limited transcript evidence. Predicted transcripts suggest multiple exons and the possibility of alternative splicing, which could yield isoforms with distinct cytoplasmic domains.
