IJlst

IJlst is a town in the Dutch province of Friesland. It is part of the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân, in the northern Netherlands. The town lies along waterways that have historically connected Friesland to the broader Dutch trading network, and it has long been associated with river transport and regional trade.

Historically, IJlst developed as a trading settlement in the Middle Ages and retained local importance through subsequent centuries.
