Hämoglobinvariante
Hämoglobinvariante refers to any alteration in the normal structure of hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells responsible for oxygen transport. These variations are typically caused by genetic mutations, meaning changes in the DNA sequence that codes for hemoglobin. Most hemoglobin variants are harmless and do not cause any health problems. However, some variants can lead to diseases, most notably hemoglobinopathies.
Hemoglobinopathies are a group of inherited blood disorders characterized by the production of abnormal hemoglobin molecules
The identification of hemoglobin variants is important for diagnosis and management of related blood disorders. Genetic
