Hsl225

Hsl225 is a shorthand designation used in digital design to indicate a color with a hue of 225 degrees within the HSL color space. The HSL model defines color by hue, saturation, and lightness, and many design tools and CSS syntax express hue as a degree on a circular color wheel from 0 to 360.

A hue of 225 places the color in the blue–violet region of the wheel, between the cyan range around 180 and the violet range near 270. In practical terms, hsl225 typically corresponds to a blue‑violet tone, with the exact appearance influenced by the saturation and lightness values chosen.

Because hsl225 only specifies the hue, it does not determine a single color. To implement a color you would specify the full HSL triple, such as hsl(225, 70%, 50%) for a bright blue‑violet or hsl(225, 40%, 30%) for a darker, more subdued shade. In CSS, such values can be used directly in color properties or stored in design tokens, for example as --color-blueviolet-225: hsl(225, 60%, 50%).

Considerations for usage include display variation and accessibility. Perceived color can differ across devices and gamma settings, and contrast with text depends on the chosen saturation and lightness. When used for text, it is important to ensure sufficient contrast against the background.
