Horneburg

Horneburg is a small town in the district of Harburg, in the state of Lower Saxony, Germany. It has a population of approximately 9,800 people as of 2020. The town is located about 11 kilometers southwest of the city of Stade, and 30 kilometers northwest of Hamburg.

Geographically, Horneburg is situated in the floodplain of the River Elbe, which creates a broad, flat area of around 12 square kilometers. The terrain is generally low-lying, with some areas subordinate to the river's natural level, while others are slightly elevated. Horneburg is a municipality of the collective municipality of Hamburg-Mitte, sharing power with Hamburg.

The area where Horneburg is situated has a long and varied history. Roman bases and ancient Germanic settlements were found in the district. The settlement has been in existence since a minimum of the 10th century but significantly, it did gain a height-based distinction west of the settlement. Its name suggests an association with the Homeri, a Germanic tribe.

After the Thirty Years' War, Horneburg settled into the course of further gentrification, predominantly in the region concerning Western cases. In the late 20th century, the natural environment- a liter-control water was found in a sense the area, pushing for conservation plans. Today, residents benefit from economic investment and infrastructure improved public amenities which play a supportive role in its betterment of its advancement.
