Himmelobjekte

Himmelobjekte, also known as celestial objects or astronomical objects, are naturally occurring physical entities, associations, or structures that exist in the observable universe. These objects encompass a vast range of scales and phenomena, from the smallest dust particles to the largest known structures. The most familiar Himmelobjekte include stars, which are luminous spheres of plasma held together by their own gravity, and planets, which are celestial bodies that orbit a star, are massive enough to be rounded by their own gravity, and have cleared their orbit of other debris.

Moons, also known as natural satellites, orbit planets or other larger bodies. Asteroids are rocky, airless worlds that orbit our Sun, but are too small to be called planets. Comets are icy bodies that have a coma and often a tail when they approach the Sun. Galaxies are massive, gravitationally bound systems of stars, stellar remnants, interstellar gas, dust, and dark matter. Within galaxies are nebulae, which are clouds of gas and dust, often the birthplaces of stars. Black holes are regions of spacetime where gravity is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape. Dwarf planets are celestial bodies that orbit the Sun, are massive enough to be rounded by their own gravity, but have not cleared their orbital neighborhood. The study of these and other Himmelobjekte falls under the domain of astronomy.
