Heraclean

Heraclean is an adjective and demonym derived from the place name Heraclea (from Greek Ἡράκλεια), used to denote origin or association with one or more ancient cities named Heraclea. The term can refer to people from those cities as well as to things connected with their culture, institutions, or material remains.

Several ancient cities bore the name Heraclea, most notably Heraclea Pontica on the Black Sea (modern Karadeniz Ereğli, Turkey) and Heraclea Lucania in southern Italy (modern Policoro).
