HEpets, also known as Hepatic Epithelial Cells, are a type of cell found in the liver. They originate from the endoderm and play a crucial role in liver function. These cells are responsible for forming the bile ducts, which are responsible for transporting bile from the liver to the gallbladder and then to the small intestine to aid in digestion. Hepets also contribute to the structural integrity of the liver and participate in metabolic processes.
