Heildarframmistöðu
Heildarframmistöðu, also known as gross domestic product (GDP) in English, is a monetary measure of the market value of all final goods and services produced within a country in a given period, typically a year. It is one of the primary indicators used to gauge the health of a country's economy. GDP can be calculated using three different approaches: the production approach, the income approach, and the expenditure approach.
The production approach measures GDP by summing up the value added at each stage of production. The
GDP is often used to compare the economic performance of different countries. However, it has its limitations.
Despite these limitations, GDP remains a widely used and accepted measure of a country's economic performance.
