Heijastusmenetelmä
Heijastusmenetelmä, known in English as the reflection method, is a technique used in various fields, including physics and engineering, to determine properties of a medium or an object by analyzing the reflection of waves. This method involves sending a wave, such as a sound wave, light wave, or electromagnetic wave, towards a target and then measuring the characteristics of the reflected wave. The time it takes for the wave to return, its amplitude, frequency, and phase shift all provide crucial information.
In geophysics, the reflection method is a cornerstone of seismic surveying. Explosions or vibrators generate seismic
The principle can also be applied in optics, for example, in the design of telescopes and microscopes.
