Haweswater
Haweswater is a reservoir located in the picturesque Haweswater valley in the Lake District National Park, Cumbria, England. It is the largest lake by volume in the Lake District and the fourth largest by surface area. The reservoir was created by the construction of a dam between 1929 and 1941, flooding the original Haweswater valley and the hamlet of Mardale Green. Manchester Corporation Waterworks commissioned the dam to provide a water supply for the growing city.
