Határozóesetben

2. Position: Where something is placed, e.g., "a polcon" (on the shelf).

3. State: In what condition something is, e.g., "a szomorú hangban" (in a sad tone).

In Hungarian, the határozóesetben is typically indicated by the suffix "-ban" or "-ben" added to the noun. For example, "ház" (house) becomes "házban" (in the house), and "polc" (shelf) becomes "polcon" (on the shelf). The choice between "-ban" and "-ben" depends on the vowel sound of the preceding consonant: "-ban" is used after consonants that end with a vowel sound, while "-ben" is used after consonants that end with a consonant sound.
