Hastighetsendring

Hastighetsendring, often translated as change in velocity, is a fundamental concept in physics that describes how an object's velocity alters over time. Velocity itself is a vector quantity, meaning it possesses both magnitude (speed) and direction. Therefore, a hastighetsendring can occur in two ways: a change in speed, or a change in direction, or both simultaneously.

The rate at which hastighetsendring occurs is known as acceleration. Mathematically, acceleration (a) is defined as the change in velocity (Δv) divided by the change in time (Δt): a = Δv / Δt. This means that if an object's velocity increases, decreases, or changes direction, it is undergoing acceleration.

For example, when a car speeds up from a standstill, its velocity is changing, resulting in a hastighetsendring. Similarly, when a car turns a corner at a constant speed, its direction is changing, which also constitutes a hastighetsendring and therefore, acceleration.
