Hapnikutöötlus
Hapnikutöötlus refers to various industrial processes that utilize oxygen. One prominent example is steelmaking, where pure oxygen is blown into molten iron to remove impurities like carbon, silicon, and phosphorus. This process, known as oxygen steelmaking, is highly efficient and produces steel of high quality. Another application is in the chemical industry, where oxygen is used as an oxidant in the production of various chemicals, including ethylene oxide and nitric acid. In the pulp and paper industry, oxygen delignification is employed to remove lignin from wood pulp, reducing the need for more environmentally harmful chemicals. Water treatment also benefits from hapnikutöötlus, with oxygen injection used to enhance aerobic digestion processes in wastewater treatment plants, thereby improving the breakdown of organic matter. Furthermore, in some gasification processes, oxygen is used to control combustion and produce synthesis gas. The application of hapnikutöötlus is diverse, contributing to efficiency and product quality across multiple industrial sectors.
