It is a negotiable instrument issued by a bank on behalf of a seller, which guarantees payment to the seller upon the presentation of certain documents. 2. The buyer presents the commercial invoice to their bank, which then issues a handelsacceptatie in favor of the seller.

4. Upon receipt of the goods or services, the seller presents the handelsacceptatie to their bank.

5. The bank pays the seller the amount specified in the handelsacceptatie.
