HYSI
HySI, which stands for Hyperspectral Imager, is a type of remote sensing instrument designed to capture image data across a broad spectrum of electromagnetic wavelengths, typically far exceeding the capabilities of standard digital cameras. Unlike a multispectral imager that collects data in a few broad spectral bands, a hyperspectral imager collects data in many narrow, contiguous spectral bands. This allows for the identification and characterization of materials based on their unique spectral signatures, which are essentially "fingerprints" of how they reflect or emit light at different wavelengths.
