Gubin

Gubin is a town located in the Lubusz Voivodeship of western Poland. It lies on the Lusatian Neisse river, which forms part of the border with Germany. Historically, Gubin was part of the Prussian province of Brandenburg and was a significant industrial center. Following World War II and the redrawing of borders, the town was divided. The eastern part, predominantly Polish, became Gubin, while the western part remained German and is now known as Guben.

The Polish Gubin is a regional administrative and economic hub. Its economy is influenced by its location near the German border, with trade and cross-border activities playing a role. The town has undergone post-war reconstruction and development. Key landmarks include churches and remnants of its historical architecture, though much of the older town was damaged during the war. The Lusatian Neisse river is a prominent geographical feature, with bridges connecting the Polish and German sides, facilitating pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Gubin also serves as a local transportation node.
