Gsproteiinisignaali (Gs protein signaling) refers to a biological pathway involving the Gs alpha subunit of heterotrimeric G proteins, which play a crucial role in cellular communication. This signaling mechanism is activated when extracellular molecules, such as hormones or neurotransmitters, bind to G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) on the cell membrane. Upon ligand binding, the GPCR undergoes a conformational change, prompting the associated Gs protein to exchange GDP for GTP on its alpha subunit.

Once activated, the Gs alpha subunit dissociates from the beta and gamma subunits and stimulates adenylate cyclase, an enzyme responsible for converting ATP into cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). The increase in cAMP acts as a second messenger, activating various downstream effectors such as protein kinase A (PKA).
