Grooten

Grooten is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Larry Lieber and artist Dick Ayers, Groot first appeared in Tales to Astonish #13 in January 1960. Initially portrayed as an extraterrestrial invader, Groot is a sentient tree-like alien, often depicted as a guardian of the galaxy.
