Groesbeck

Groesbeck is a city located in Limestone County, Texas, United States. It is the county seat of Limestone County. The city is situated in Central Texas, approximately 90 miles south of Dallas and 45 miles north of Waco.

The area was settled in the 1830s, and the town was officially established in 1871. It was named after G.W. Groesbeck, a railroad executive. The arrival of the Houston and Texas Central Railway in 1871 significantly boosted the town's growth, as it became an important agricultural and shipping center.

Groesbeck's economy is historically tied to agriculture, with cotton and livestock being significant products. Today, the city also benefits from its proximity to energy industry activities in the region.
