Greekpharos is a term that refers to an ancient Greek lighthouse. The most famous example is the Lighthouse of Alexandria, also known as the Pharos of Alexandria. Built in the 3rd century BCE during the reign of Ptolemy II Philadelphus, it was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Its primary purpose was to guide ships into the busy harbor of Alexandria. The lighthouse was renowned for its immense height and sophisticated design, which likely included a fire at its summit whose light was reflected by a mirror.
