Gravitationsanziehung

Gravitationsanziehung, also known as gravitational attraction, is a fundamental force of nature that causes any two objects with mass to attract each other. This attraction is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers. This relationship is famously described by Newton's law of universal gravitation.

The concept of gravitational attraction explains a wide range of phenomena. On Earth, it is responsible for keeping us grounded, causing objects to fall when dropped, and influencing the tides. On a cosmic scale, gravity governs the orbits of planets around stars, the motion of stars within galaxies, and the structure of the universe itself. Without gravitational attraction, celestial bodies would not form or maintain their organized structures.

While Newton's law provides an excellent approximation for most everyday and astronomical situations, Albert Einstein's theory of general relativity offers a more comprehensive understanding. General relativity describes gravity not as a force, but as a curvature of spacetime caused by the presence of mass and energy. Massive objects warp the fabric of spacetime around them, and other objects follow these curves, which we perceive as gravitational attraction. This more advanced model has been crucial in explaining phenomena like the bending of light by massive objects and the existence of black holes.
