Granulomatös
Granulomatös is a German medical term that describes a pathological condition characterized by the formation of granulomas. Granulomas are microscopic collections of immune cells, primarily macrophages, that group together in response to chronic inflammation or infection. These collections are typically surrounded by a layer of lymphocytes and other inflammatory cells. The purpose of granuloma formation is to wall off and contain persistent foreign substances or infectious agents that the body cannot readily eliminate.
The presence of granulomas, or a granulomatous process, can be indicative of a variety of underlying diseases.
