Golgilaitteistossa
Golgilaitteistossa, commonly referred to as the Golgi apparatus or Golgi complex, is an essential organelle found in eukaryotic cells. It plays a crucial role in modifying, sorting, and packaging proteins and lipids for secretion or delivery to other organelles. The Golgi apparatus is composed of flattened, membrane-bound sacs called cisternae, which are stacked together like a pile of pancakes. These cisternae are organized into distinct regions: the cis face, which receives vesicles from the endoplasmic reticulum, the medial cisternae, where most modification occurs, and the trans face, which buds off vesicles containing the processed molecules.
Within the Golgi, proteins and lipids undergo various post-translational modifications, such as glycosylation, phosphorylation, and proteolytic
