Golgiapparátusok

Golgiapparátusok, also known as Golgi apparatus, Golgi complex, or simply Golgi, are a collection of membrane-bound sacs and vesicles found in eukaryotic cells. These organelles are crucial for modifying, sorting, and packaging proteins and lipids for secretion or delivery to other organelles. Think of it as the cell's post office.

The Golgi apparatus is composed of flattened sacs called cisternae, which are arranged in a stack. The cis face, which is closer to the endoplasmic reticulum, receives proteins and lipids. As these molecules move through the cisternae, they undergo various modifications, such as glycosylation (the addition of sugar molecules) and proteolytic cleavage. The trans face, on the other side of the stack, is where the processed molecules are sorted and packaged into vesicles.

These vesicles then bud off from the trans face and transport their cargo to specific destinations. This can include secretion outside the cell, delivery to lysosomes for degradation, or incorporation into the plasma membrane. The Golgi apparatus plays a vital role in cellular function, impacting everything from cell signaling to membrane structure.
