Glyntrs

Glyntrs is a city-state and archipelago in the southern reaches of the continent of Noreth. It comprises eight islets linked by a network of stone bridges and causeways, with the capital on the largest island, Keldar, where the basalt Citadel rises above the harbor. The government operates as a constitutional republic with a Council elected for four-year terms and a rotating mayoralty.

Situated along major maritime routes, Glyntrs developed as a trading hub for timber, fish, and ceramics. It achieved chartered city status in 1324 and gained increasing autonomy within the Maritime Confederation during the 16th to 19th centuries, culminating in its current semi-sovereign arrangements.

The Tide Festival, held each autumn, highlights maritime heritage with processions, markets, and exhibitions. Notable sites include the basalt Citadel, the University of Glyntrs, and the Maritime Museum.

Demographics and outlook: The population is around 350,000, with a mix of descendants from maritime guilds, traders, and new residents drawn by the knowledge economy.
