Glycosyleerd
Glycosyleerd is a term used in chemistry and biochemistry to describe the process of glycosylation or the state of being glycosylated. Glycosylation is a type of post-translational modification where a carbohydrate molecule, known as a glycan, is covalently attached to a target molecule. This target molecule is typically a protein, but it can also be a lipid or other organic molecule. The resulting structure is called a glycoprotein or glycolipid.
The addition of glycans can significantly alter the properties and functions of the molecule it is attached
The process of glycosylation is complex and occurs in various cellular compartments, primarily in the endoplasmic
