Gleichform
Gleichform is a term used in German-language mathematics and related disciplines to denote a relation of form-equivalence between mathematical objects. The literal translation is “same form.” In this sense, two expressions, equations, or forms are called Gleichform if one can be transformed into the other by a reversible change of variables or scaling, so that they represent the same underlying object or structure.
In the area of quadratic forms, for instance, two binary quadratic forms ax^2 + bxy + cy^2 and
Outside quadratic forms, Gleichformen can describe the equivalence of more general algebraic forms or equations under
Notes: The term reflects the broader mathematical idea that structure matters more than representation. German-language sources
