Gespierorgaan is a Dutch term that translates to "muscle organ." It refers to any organ primarily composed of muscle tissue. These organs are crucial for bodily function, enabling movement, pumping fluids, and maintaining structure. The most well-known gespierorgaan is the heart, a vital organ responsible for circulating blood throughout the body. Other examples include the muscles of the digestive system, which propel food through the intestines, and the muscles of the bladder, which control the expulsion of urine. The smooth muscles found in blood vessels and airways also contribute to regulating blood pressure and airflow, respectively.
