Geokoordinaattiset refers to the system of coordinates used to define locations on the Earth's surface. The most common geocoordinate system is the latitude and longitude system. Latitude measures the angular distance, in degrees, of a point on the Earth's surface north or south of the equator. The equator is designated as 0 degrees latitude, the North Pole is 90 degrees north latitude, and the South Pole is 90 degrees south latitude. Longitude measures the angular distance, in degrees, of a point on the Earth's surface east or west of the Prime Meridian.
