Geminider is a fictional autonomous reconnaissance probe featured in the science fiction setting known as the Galactic Atlas universe. Developed by the Interstellar Survey Coalition, Geminiders are designed for exploration of binary and multiple-star systems, planetary regimes around such stars, and nearby small bodies. The term combines "Gemini" for twin operation and "ider" as a suffix used in probe design.

Geminider comprises a compact, spherical chassis equipped with dual sensor arrays that can operate in parallel, allowing simultaneous observations of two targets or two spectral bands. Its power system is described as a hybrid: solar-electric generation supplementing modular fusion cells for extended missions. Propulsion uses high-efficiency ion thrusters with occasional chemical boosts for rapid reorientation. It carries a laser communication terminal for high-rate data transmission to relay satellites or orbiting stations.

Operational concept centers on paired deployments known as "gems pair" to maintain redundancy and cover wider swaths around a binary system. Onboard processing performs initial data reduction, three-dimensional mapping, spectroscopy, and exoplanet atmosphere sampling. Data are relayed to a mothership or deep-space relay network for downlink to researchers on Earth-like worlds.

Variants include the Geminider-D1, a deep-space scout with extended endurance, and the Geminider-C1, a communications-relay variant with enhanced uplink power and a larger antenna.

Within the fictional corpus, Geminider is credited with improving the efficiency of binary-star surveys, contributing to cataloging and target selection for subsequent missions. Critics within the universe point to its reliance on dual-sensor configuration as potentially resource-intensive and vulnerable to corrosive environments near young stars.
