Gemeldet

Gemeldet is the past participle of the German verb melden and functions as an adjective or as part of verb forms to indicate that something has been reported, notified, or registered with an authority or institution. The term is commonly used in administrative, legal, and journalistic contexts.

In administrative contexts gemeldet describes the status of a person or item in an official register. For example, “Der Wohnsitz ist bei der Meldebehörde gemeldet” means that the residence is registered with the registry office. In reporting or notification contexts, one might say “Der Vorfall wurde gemeldet” to indicate that an incident has been officially reported. In everyday language, the related verb phrase “sich melden” means to come forward, to report oneself, or to respond to a call or summons, as in “Ich habe mich bei der Polizei gemeldet” (I have reported to the police) or “Bitte melden Sie sich umgehend” (Please report in immediately).
